Rev. Leroy Jones was
born and raised in Houston Texas. He is the first born child in his
family of two brothers and two sisters, and the first born grandchild
of a Baptist pastor. He met and married his soul mate Harriett and they
are the proud parents of a son and daughter, Scotty and Cecily.
He was formally educated as an Electrical Engineer at Howard University
in Washington, D.C. Very early on, God blessed his life and career in
mighty and magnificent ways. He is one of the founding fathers of the
personal computer industry, being one of the original 30 engineers that
founded the Compaq Computer Corporation in 1982. He is also very active
in the community and was the founder of the annual Austin Black Family
Technology Awareness Program in 1999. For his technical contributions
to the computer industry and his dedication to the betterment of the
community, he has been nationally recognized on numerous occasions in
broadcast and printed media. He was twice recognized at the annual
“Black Engineer of the Year” conferences in Baltimore MD in
1996 and 1998. He was recognize by the National Society of Black
Engineers with the “Pioneer of the Year” award in 2000, and
has been keynote speaker at numerous private and public schools and
college campuses.
Throughout the years, Rev. Jones maintained a great zeal for God and
served in numerous capacities within the church. After hearing God
calling for nearly all of his lifetime, he answered and entered into
the ministry in 1996. He received a degree in Pastoral Ministries from
the Austin Baptist Academy in May 2005. That same year, God led him and
his wife to open the Saving Grace Christian Bible Fellowship in
Georgetown Texas.
Minister Jones articulates a strong message that offers the only true
solution to the problems of today - salvation through Jesus Christ. He
endeavors to reach as many as God allows with the Good News that Jesus
died for all mankind, paying a debt that we owed, absolving us from
sin, and through faith in Him, bringing us into a right relationship
with God. His passion is the salvation of souls and to see God's people
baptized in the Holy Spirit and walking in victory.
